AFTER being released from his call as a full-time missionary by his Stake President the night before, Jaxon was no longer referred to as "Elder." TODAY he reported about his two-year mission to the Brazil Porto Alegre North Mission in Sacrament Meeting in the Frisco Tenth Ward, Texas. He was so proud to say that he had served in some of the same areas his dad had served as a missionary over twenty-five years ago and had met some of the same people his dad had baptized and known. That really meant a lot to both Jaxon, his dad, and those people who they both now know in Brazil.
Jaxon, when he gave his farewell speech two years prior, and Jaxon, today as he gave his homecoming speech.
Jaxon's testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and his love of the Savior was truly evident as he told of his experiences with these humble people, who he learned to LOVE so much. Although he said the mission was one of the most difficult times in his life, it was also one of the most wonderful experiences of his life. He encouraged all young men and women to make the decision to serve. They, too, would find the joy of serving the Lord and their fellowmen and women.
An open house was held afterwards in his parents' home where many family, friends, and church members attended.
Aunts and cousins preparing food the night before.
Just as when Jaxon's sister, Sydney, had to leave for the airport to get back to Utah to school after Jaxon's farewell two years ago, today the same thing happened after she came for Jaxon's homecoming. Such a special brother and sister bond!
Beautiful day and homecoming for Jaxon and his entire family, extended family, and friends. Welcome home, Jaxon! Well done!
