Setting Apart As a Missionary - June 12, 2022

Elder Copeland was officially set apart as a missionary by President Kris Katseanes, Stake President of the Frisco Stake.  This is the priesthood ordinance of giving authority to members called to labor in specific responsibilities.  It is done by those having the proper priesthood authority and by the laying on of hands.  He was given a beautiful blessing and many promises were made if he would devote these next two years to the Lord and be obedient in all his responsibilities.

More good-byes from his cousins.

Elder Copeland began his missionary training the very next morning in his home with Zoom meetings coming from the Missionary Training Center in Sao Paulo, Brazil, for the next two weeks.  After which, he will fly directly to Sao Paulo for four more weeks to finish his training and then fly to Porto Alegre North where he will begin his service and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in the Portuguese language.

Speaking in Sacrament Meeting and Farewell Open House

Elder Copeland spoke in the Texas Frisco 10th Ward Sacrament Meeting on Sunday, June 12, 2022.

His message was about the reasons he chose to serve a mission for the Lord, foregoing his golf scholarship for now and finding a D-1 school that will hold it until he returns.   His desire is to help others have the blessings of the gospel just as he has had his entire life.  He mentioned the examples he's had in his own family, including his dad, uncles, his sister, as well as cousins who've, also, served.  He is very excited to get to Brazil and serve the people there.

Many family members and friends were in attendance at Sacrament Meeting, with others joining the meeting by Zoom.

This was such a wonderful day of family and friends wishing Elder Copeland well as he serves the Lord for the next two years.

Attending the Temple for the First Time - June 10, 2022

Elder Copeland attended the Dallas Temple on June 10, 2022.  It was a beautiful evening for the many family members and friends who were there.
