Week 37 - February 27, 2023

What's up, everyone!  First week in the new area and I love it.  The area, Sapucaia, is way bigger than my last and has a lot more elevation.  This area has a ton of work to do and is full of awesome people.  My new comp, Elder Weaver, and I are already best friends and working together is a blast.  Never a dull moment together lol.

This week was a grind and full of a lot of crazy experiences. Each day was filled with non-stop visits and running around the area.  Currently in the house, we have three Americans and one guy from Argentina.  We share this area and split it in two. Our part of the area is basically a mountain, so for the most part we run up and down it all day.  It's the first time I've had some real elevation in the mission, and my legs are definitely feeling it.  This was the most busy I've been, and I love it. Always something to do and always out of the house working!

This week we had the baptism of our friend Davi!
two weeks ago, he was smoking around 40 cigarettes a day and within the small span, he has been able to stop everything. As soon as we brought up baptism for the first time, his eyes lit up and ever since has been willing and dedicated to do anything.  Sunday morning, he was beyond excited and all through church could barely sit still because of how excited he was.  He probably checked the time every five minutes until the meeting ended lol.  We also had the pleasure of the mission president and his wife to be present and participate in the baptism which made it even more special.  Davi felt like a champ and had a smile going all day!
I'm loving the new change thus far.  My comp and I are getting after it and there is a lot to be done.  I'm starting to really love it out here and being a missionary every day.  Every day is a new chance and a grind which is all part of the fun.  Hope everything is well with you guys back home!
