Week 20 - November 7, 2022

What's up, guys!  Another busy week in Porto Alegre. Work as of late has been slow, but things will pick up sooner than later.

Living with the Assistants to the President and seeing how they work is teaching me a lot.  These guys are unbelievable teachers of the gospel and are helping me a lot. I'm trying to take advantage of the opportunity and grow as much as I can.

We spent the first few days visiting as many people as we could.  We didn't have a ton of success as most of the addresses were wrong, but towards the end of the week, we were stopped in the road by a kid who was recently baptized. He asked us if we could visit his grandparents who lived close by and share a message.  We also had another youth who is preparing to go on a mission join us for the lesson.  Turns out the kid who joined us is cousins with the recent convert lol.  We taught about the restoration of the church and stayed after to have dinner with them.  The couple is some of the most genuine people I've met here and hope we can continue working with them.

The youth in this ward are super awesome and strong.  There are a lot of guys preparing to serve missions and also a bunch that already have.  Throughout the week, we have basketball and soccer at the church and every time it's a solid turnout. The ward out here is like a home away from home, and they do a great job of taking care of the missionaries.

Here in the mission, you come across a lot of people that want to make changes in their lives or say they want to do something but never do so.  Everyone has a desire to be better in some way or another, but the hardest part is to just start. This is easier said than done, but the quicker we stop making excuses or justify not doing something, the faster we grow.  I've seen the blessings of this in my life on the mission.  We are a lot more capable of doing things when we work with urgency and with the right mindset.  Start today and stay committed to the process.
Love you guys!
