Week 61 - August 18, 2023

What's up, everyone!  First week of the new transfer and with the new comp!  My new comp, Elder Carmo, is from Bahia and absolutely hilarious.  We knew each other pretty well before we were comps so going into the transfer we were pretty excited.  Having a comp like this makes the work so much more enjoyable and the time passes by much quicker.

The new area isn't anything different from my last one.  It's the neighboring area so the only real change is the ward.  Two areas in our zone were also closed for this transfer, so we've been running both areas taking care of them as well.
This week we had the baptism of Pedro, who is awesome.  I taught him for the first time in a division last week and after two minutes of knowing him, it was clear he has so much good to do in the church.  He's only 16 but is a great example for the rest of his family.

I hit 14 months this week.  Time is flying and I am having so much fun doing missionary work.  It is so rewarding and special to be out here and with the people of Brazil.  What I've been thinking about a lot lately is finding joy in the little things. If not, we will be forever chasing something that's not attainable, a false sense of happiness.  The ability to focus on the good in a situation is what makes the difference.
Thanks all for the support!
Email me if you haven't in a while!  I would love to hear from you.
Elder Copeland!
